What is success?
Success is a moment of celebration for accomplishments in any facet of life. Success is an amalgamate sense of accomplishments that are built step by step in all these facets.
On the educational level, success is considered fulfilled upon obtaining the highest grades or the highest degrees. But that is not true as many people hold the highest of degrees, yet they are not necessarily feeling successful or truly happy for their accomplishments.
On a personal level as well, relationships of all kinds determine the level of personal success by how long they last or how strong they are to withstand any winds that might blow at them. Neither can be an indicator of success because the quality of a relationship is beyond time and obstacles. Particularly here, true happiness starts with self, that is the ultimate relationship success that is the foundation of any other relationship.
On the professional level, similarly some people climb the ladder of the hierarchical organization and define their success by reaching those milestones. Yet, ambition is what keeps us going on to achieve more success. But I see many people in mid to high hierarchical levels not feeling quite successful.
When does enough success become enough?! What is the ultimate success?
More importantly the question to ask here is why we strive to become successful? And who determines if we are successful or not?
Profound questions that need answers because they drive our life journeys.
Before I attempt to answer these questions, I would like to set the path and the final goal. Starting from the end, the ultimate level of success is to be truly human as that is the purpose of life. To be human, to be truly in harmony with the universe, to align self with the universal consciousness fulfilling the purpose of human life. Recognizing our ultimate reality and living accordingly is the enlightenment of success. Otherwise, we will keep trying again in more lives to learn the lessons so we can evolve.
As humans, we define success differently as it is stemming from cultural/societal influences. It may be determined by wealth, level of education, or a job title. But why do we need success? Is it to motivate us or for self-esteem in our entourage?
Truly, distorted success is a trap !!!
Yes, I said that, a trap 😊
Success is a trap of the ego. It is driven unconsciously or “subconsciously as in earthly definitions”. Although it can be used as a motivational quality to have an ambition to passionately pursue something in life, yet, it is a double-edged sword as it can be a curse to ruin our life if not done for the right reasons and in the right way. It should serve a high-level purpose and fulfill a noble esteem. When it becomes an obsession, it can become a pitfall, a distortion, and a weakness contradicting the whole original idea for it. (Hint: look at the corruption levels we have now).
All success reached is incremental as long as it takes us on that purposeful path we came to accomplish in this life. Any deviation from the path becomes a trap. So, what is our purpose? Any success should be referencing that purpose to evaluate it.
Any success is ‘temporary’ (a better choice of word not to use another demeaning adjective) unless it fulfills the heart true and conscious purpose.
So, what are you striving for? And why?
I hope my words trigger a deeper thought to find your answers.
The ultimate success is to do things from the heart to reach that grand and noble state of being truly human with all the divinity within, the "I AM". This kind of success takes you on a path that goes far beyond the sky, ‘literally’ because the sky is never the limit.
I pray each one of us say “I AM the success story” !
Cheers for your noble success !!!
