The 99 names of Allah

By Susan Sabra

Who read the names of Allah and thought for once about the deep meaning that each carries and how it vibrates in her/his being?

I always wondered whether God really needs to have a list of adjectives. Or is it just something humans need to hold on to?

Who gathered these adjectives and decided on the 99 number?

Is it rational that Al-Hussein Bin Mansur AlHallaj was killed because he added the 100th, the "I AM" or "I am truth", the truest of all the names of God???

Is it possible to define the revelation and greatness of God in a few names? Many questions arise in my mind but there is a  more pivotal problem to address.

I always pondered upon these names and in particular the ones that carry a very dark and negative aspect and vibration that did not resonate with the God in my heart.

Are these negative ones a projection of the dark side of the human being who decided to gather them as they do not relate to God in any way?

The names or adjectives I completely refuse to attribute to God are:

The harmful, the dominant, the avenger, the humiliating, the transcendent, and the omnipotent.

These names carry negative dark aspects that cannot be attributed to the light and love that God is all about.

Our souls need to embrace light to know our truth, to believe in our spiritual consciousness, and to know the reason of our existence in this life and in every other life.

Every word we say and, more importantly, every prayer reflect on the collective consciousness and contribute to the cosmic consciousness.

We have to mind every uttered word, prayer, and wish as we might have borrowed them from mistrusted sources or inherited them in a blind way without the reflection on their meanings.

It is our duty towards God not to portray him in ways that he is not. We have to rely on our intuition for knowing the truth without depending on others to give us directions. Each one of us has a direct connection with God. It is up to us to activate that connection on a daily basis to avoid the middlemen aka the clergy and merchants of words. Our soul and heart are our compass to know the right direction and path to the Truth.

This article may be followed by a series in the same context of awakening to the truth on an individual level.

I wish upon each person who reached this far reading this article to share it and spread the awareness to start this movement of collective awakening on a major scale. Humanity is in jeopardy and it is our duty and responsibility to change our ways for a better tomorrow otherwise we will face the fate of previous civilizations that ruled the Earth and then disappeared due to their arrogance and ignorance about the Truth.

The best is yet to come if we want it!!!
